-Investigative analysis by The Marshall Project, based on data from Deportation Data Project, found that the daily number of children held in ICE detention in 2025 was 6 times higher than in previous years. 3,800+ children, including infants, toddlers, and school age children were held in federal custody in 2025. 1,300+ children were held over the 20 day limit established by the Flores Settlement.
